Can I get a taxi funded through Access to Work?

Yes. If you are Deaf, disabled, or have a health condition that makes it difficult or unsafe to use public transport, you may be eligible for Access to Work funding to cover the cost of taxi journeys between your home and workplace. This support helps ensure you can travel to work reliably and safely, in line with your individual access needs.​

Is there a limit to how much Access to Work will cover per taxi journey?

We ensure all journeys stay within Access to Work guidelines to prevent claim rejections.

Can ERS Taxi Service manage the claims on my behalf?

Absolutely. We submit monthly receipts, manage communications with Access to Work, and ensure all your transport documentation meets DWP compliance standards.

I’m Deaf, hard of hearing, or have a disability – can I book a Deaf-aware Uber driver?

Yes. We can help pre-arrange Deaf-aware or disability-conscious drivers where available. While Uber does not currently guarantee Deaf drivers on demand, we have already spoken with the London Uber Business Team and they are aware of these access needs, with the aim of improving future availability. We recommend advance booking to give you the best chance of being matched with a suitable driver. Our goal is to make your journeys as smooth, safe, and accessible as possible.
